Karachi experienced a welcome change in the weather on Saturday morning, with rains with relief in various parts of the city.
The rain, which began early on the day, has finished a prolonged spell of intense heat, providing a very necessary break for residents.
The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) has predicted intermittent rain and thunderstorms throughout the day, especially after noon.
Temperatures are expected to reach 31 ° C, with high humidity levels around 90%. The winds blow from northeast to 10 km/h, contributing to cold but wet conditions.
The PMD has also predicted Thundershowers for other cities in Sindh, including Hyderabad, Dadu, Badin and Sukkur.
The current west system is expected to bring thunderstorms, raccoon winds and more rain to the region until June 29.
In Karachi, the highest rain recorded so far has been 16 mm in the city of Armjani, followed by 7.4 mm in the north of Karachi and 6.1 mm in the city of Orangi.
The MET Office has issued a warning that another monsoon system will probably affect SNDH around July 5 or 6.
PMD spokesman said the southern parts of Karachi are currently under the cloud cover, which could lead to heavier rain later in the day.
Residents are advised to remain cautious on roads, since wet conditions could lead to slippery surfaces.
