Almost two weeks after the incident took place, the WNBA said Tuesday that the League could not corroborate the statements made against fans who attended the game despite the uproar that the investigation caused on social networks.
Portnoy painted the response of the fever to the conclusion of the WNBA.
“It is good to have fever of the Indiana spine,” he wrote. “The ‘investigation’ was Bulls —. Both you and WNBA gave (credibility) to a very obvious troll. ESPN ran with him. Caitlin Clark had to defend his fans without any reason. You did something out of anything. The fans of Indiana’s fever deserve better.”
The CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, Mel Raines, issued a statement on the conclusion of the League investigation.

Angel Reese was not asked that WNBA finds no evidence of alleged comments of hate towards her
“We appreciate the rapid and exhaustive process carried out by the WNBA to investigate these accusations, which were not justified,” Raines said. “In Gainbridge Fieldhouse, we are committed to providing the best possible basketball experience for players and fans where hate speech has nothing place. Indiana is home to the best fans in the world, and we expect an exciting season of fever basketball.”
Portnoy also reacted to the WNBA statement.

“No S — You pretend toilets,” he wrote. “Maybe I wait next time before creating a racial war based on angry Tiks from the Chicago Sky/Angel trolls that were not even in the game. Honestly, one of the barely bad public relations masters that I have seen.”
