- The Xbox Chief, Phil Spencer, has once again confirmed his support for the Nintendo Switch 2
- Spencer is a “really great believer” in Nintendo and what he can do for the industry
- He also says that there is no pressure on the revelation of the Xbox next generation project after the Switch 2 hardware revelation
The Microsoft Gaming CEO, Phil Spencer, has reaffirmed that Xbox is still interested in admitting the Nintendo Switch 2.
In a new interview with Variety after Nintendo Switch 2 Direct earlier this month, Spencer was asked if there are plans to expand to switch 2 in the middle of the current multiplatform impulse of Microsoft, which has seen games like Indiana Jones and the big circle go to PS5.
Like the Xbox chief, he said in January, he said that the company will support Switch 2, such as the switch, since it is another way to reach more players, and believes that Nintendo is an important part of the industry in general.
“So we have been supporting Switch 1, I want to admit Switch 2. Nintendo has been a great partner,” Spencer said. “We believe it is a unique way for us to reach players who are not PC players, who are not Xbox players. It allows us to continue growing our community of people who care about the franchises we have, and that is really important for us to make sure that we continue investing in our games.
“I really believe in what Nintendo means for this industry and that we continue supporting them. And obtaining their support for our franchises, I think, is an important part of our future.”
Although it was not revealed that Xbox games come to switch 2 during the showcase, it is rumored that titles such as Halo: The main collection and Microsoft flight simulator It will arrive at the platform in the future.
When asked if Nintendo’s great revelation about the Switch 2 hardware has made Xbox “be” in terms of revealing its own next -generation project, Spencer said “no” and believes that the industry “should focus on our communities and the base of players we are building.”
“I was inspired by what many different creators and other platform holders do. But I believe in the plans we have,” he said. “Obviously, we are evolving what it means to be Xbox and know players in so many different places. There are 3 billion people who play video games on the planet and get up every morning and I think about how Xbox can be more relevant to the 3 billion people who play.
“And that is through ensuring that we are leading how our games and our platform characteristics can be available in as many places as possible, either in the cloud, whether people who play on PC, whether they are people who play in the console. Therefore, we are really driven by trying to grow our franchises and our platform to be an important part of the games for so many 3 billion players as we can arrive.”
The Nintendo Switch 2 is launched on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 or $ 499.99 / £ 429.99 for a Mario de Mario Kart bunch.
The advance orders are now live in the United Kingdom, but the early orders of the USA and the anticipated Canadian orders have been delayed as Nintendo evaluates the potential impact of the rates.
