The New York Yankees had a moment of silence in honor of the New York Didarul Islam police officer before the first launch of Tuesday’s confrontation with the Rays of Tampa Bay.
“Before tonight’s game, we kept a moment of silence in Memoriam of the New York Police officer, Dirul Islam, who was tragically killed in the shooting in the city center,” the Yankees wrote in X.
An office building was the site of a massive shooting that left five dead, including Didarul, when an armed man unleashed fire in before he took his life.

The great height office tower is located on 52 and Park Avenue in Manhattan, a municipality that comes Bronx, the Yankee Stadium house.
“The entire Yankees organization sends their condolences to their family, as well as the families of the other victims of this act of meaningless violence,” the Yankees declaration concluded.
The Yankees followed the 3-0 Rays in the third entry on Tuesday night.
The flags of the government buildings throughout the city were placed at the half -mast on Tuesday in honor of Islam, confirmed the mayor of New York City, Eric Adams.
The building where the shooting was made houses the NFL headquarters.

In a memorandum obtained by Pak Gazette Digital, the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed that at least one NFL employee was “seriously injured” but appeared in stable conditions.
Goodell also thanked Islam for its sacrifice.

“We are deeply grateful to the law agents who responded to this threat quickly and decisively and the Islam officer, who gave his life to protect others,” said the memorandum.
The 36 -year -old had been in force four years before being shot dead on Monday night. She was a married father of two young children, and her wife is pregnant with her third son, said the New York police commissioner Jessica Tisch.

Islam was assigned to the New York Police enclosure 47 at Bronx. He was one of the two uniformed officers in the Park Avenue building when the shooting occurred.
New York Police said Islam “represented the best of our department.”
“He was protecting the New Yorkers from danger when his life was tragically interrupted today,” added the New York Police. “We join prayer during this time of incomprehensible pain. We will always honor its legacy.”
