- There may not be a Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus, with the s26 edge taking its place
- Screen sizes for the Galaxy S26 series have also leaked
- The S26 could have a marginally larger screen than the S25, while, according to reports, there will be no real change for the other two models
It has been an unusual year for Samsung phones, since the company has launched more premium models than normal. Recently was the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fe, which is the first time we see a folding ‘faith’, and before that was the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, a thinner alternative to the rest of the S25 series.
Next year there could be more changes, but in contrast to this year, the company could be reducing the selection of phones it does.
According to a report on the South Korean site, The ELE (at Whide Phone Arena), there will not be a Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus, with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge taking its place.
While we would take this with a pinch of salt, it is a credible statement, since the Galaxy S25 Edge is already similar to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus: it has the same screen size and chipset, for example, only in a thinner housing and with a less camera. Therefore, it could be said that there is not much need for both.
This would also bring the Samsung Galaxy S26 more in line with what we expect from the iPhone 17 series, since according to the reports, Apple will launch an iPhone 17 Air instead of an iPhone 17 Plus. There is logic in Samsung Mirring Apple in this way, since it ensures that there are Samsung alternatives to all Apple phones.
Similar screen sizes
The same report also detailed the possible screen sizes for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, but the listed sizes are similar to the current models, with the Samsung Galaxy S26 apparently with a 6.27 -inch screen, the Edge S26 is said to have a 6.66 inches and the Samsung Galaxy S26 that supposedly has a 6.8 inches of 6.8 inches of 6.89 inches.
As a comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 has a 6.2 -inch screen, the Galaxy S25 EDGE has one of 6.7 inches and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 6.9 -inch screen. In practice, if this leak is correct, we hope Samsung still markens the S26 Plus and S26 ultra screens as 6.7 inches and 6.9 inches screens respectively, with the base model possibly rounded up to 6.3 inches.
Some people may be disappointed if screen sizes do not increase much, but we argue that they are already at the optimal point, and if you want a larger screen, there is always the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.
But the Samsung Galaxy S26 series will probably not launch until early 2026, so with a long time to wait, we would not surprise us if some of these early rumors end up being wrong.
