Dyson has announced a new flagor: the animal of the piston V16. It has many exciting characteristics, but one that caught my attention is particularly the fact that this vacuum will be available in an underwater version.
This is the same vacuum, but with an additional underwater floor head included, which makes it a mop. Therefore, I would use the regular floor head for the vacuum, and then join the underwater head to the wet cleaning of its hard floors.
It is not the only machine 2 in 1 in the Dyson line: its last flagship can be purchased as submarine Dyson V15s. My Australian colleague Techradar Sharmishta Sarkar tried that, and although it was impressed by the design, which obvious the need for a vacuum and a separate mop, and discovered that it was excellent for small maps clean, had some problems with the design of the underwater head, and unfortunately, it seems that they have not set in the V16 Piston Animal Submarine.
More frustrating is the fact that this floor head has It has improved in other ways. I chatted with one of the engineers behind the V16, and she told me that, according to customer comments, Dyson has adjusted the water dispensation to make it more uniform. That is great (although during my practical time with the submarine of piston animals V16, it still seemed quite humid and drip), but there are more things that need to address.
Sharmishta’s main complaint was that the dirty water tank is not completely sealed, and it was too easy to spill it on the floor on the way to empty it. That is exacerbated by the fact that there is no indicator to show when the dirty water tank is filled, and that is hidden in a place where you cannot see it.
This is not a problem with the wet cleanser of the brand, the Dyson Washg1, which came out after the V15 detection submarine (you can see exactly how they are compared in my submarine article Dyson Washg1 vs. V15s). I expected the improvements introduced there to also appear in 2 in 1 later machines.
I have not yet had the opportunity to try the submarine version of Dyson V16 piston animals at home, so I will reserve the trial until I put it correctly. Is this model good enough to include in my summary of the best wet and dry vacuum cleaners? Let’s see.
The V16 Piston Animal Submarine is available to buy now in the United Kingdom and Australia, at a list price of £ 899.99 / AU $ 1,649. The piston animal will go on sale in the US. At some point of next year, but it is not yet known whether the underwater version will also be available or the price of either.
