The Supreme Court of Puisne Judge of Pakistan, Judge Mansoor Ali Shah, commented that since “he has not done anything wrong, why should references submitted against him fear?”
The comments occurred during an informal conversation with journalists after the oath ceremony of seven newly appointed judges for the Supreme Court, said Express News.
Judge Shah emphasized his faith, declaring that “Allah is the protector”, while answering a question about rumors of references against him.
In the sincere exchange, Judge Shah also mentioned that those who question the work of judges should consider the case records, which are available on the website of the Supreme Court. He added that his work and court decisions were public records, highlighting the efficiency in cases management.
“There is no personal animosity or conflict with anyone,” Judge Shah said. “If the elephant is not seen in the room, what can we say?” He also emphasized the cordial relations with other judges, stating that they often knew and shared tea together.
Today early, the president of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi, administered the oath of the position to six newly appointed judges of the Supreme Court during a formal ceremony.
The oath ceremony saw the sworn of Judge Aamir Faooq, Judge Shafi Siddiqui, Judge Hashim Kakar, Judge Ishtiaq Ibrahim, Judge Salahuddin, Judge Shakeel Ahmed and Judge Ad Hoc Justice Gul Hassan.
The event was attended by Judges of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the Senior Lawyers, the journalists, the Judicial Personnel, as well as the officers of the Bar Association of the Supreme Court and the Pakistan Bar Association.
Separately, President Asif Ali Zardari will administer the oath to the Interim President of IHC justice, Sarfaraz Dogar.
