There is still no decision to cancel the treaties with India: fo

Islamabad:

Pakistan has not made any formal decision to annul any bilateral agreement with India, since the two countries compete in the diplomatic front after April 22, the Pahalgam incident.

“So far a formal decision on the abrogation of any bilateral agreement with India has not been made,” said a foreign office official on Thursday

The statement occurred one day after Defense Minister Khawaja Asif told a private television channel that the Simla agreement signed between Pakistan and India in 1972 has lost its “holiness” due to the unilateral actions of New Delhi, including the suspension of the Indo Water Treaty (IWT).

“He [Simla] The agreement was bilateral […] As no third or the World Bank was involved, “said Asif, maintaining that the control line (LOC) would become a high line of fire in the absence of the bilateral treaty.

“If this is the case and India has begun this [attitude] Then, the SIMLA agreement is between two parts and has no interference or sponsorship of the World Bank or any other person, so the LOC will return to a line of high fire, which was its original state according to the [UN] Resolution approved at the time of the plebiscite of 1948.

“The holiness of the Simla agreement has been eliminated due to the actions of India,” added the Minister of Defense, saying that his conditions, as for India and Pakistan to solve problems bilaterally, were no longer applicable. “The agreement as a whole after this episode of war now has no value,” he added.

The agreement was signed between Pakistan and India after the 1971 war; The signatories were Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Indira Gandhi.
