The British high fidelity firm Avid has presented the new flagship in its range of Evo speakers, Evo Two, as part of its ongoing celebrations of the 30th anniversary, which also recently included its first completely new rotating rotating in 12 years.
Avid describes the Evo Two as an “advance” of the current three Evo speakers, with the new model that offers an improved serious response, a broader dynamic range and a more expansive sound stage.
The speakers will be available in the United Kingdom, Europe and the USA, but they have been taken into account by the US market: according to the managing director Conrad Mas, “it is particularly suitable for rooms and larger properties where the construction of walls can be less rigid, a common scenario in many American homes.”
Avid Evo Two: Key and prices specifications
The two Evo have a soft -coated 2 mm (1.1 -inch), two 160 mm (6.3 -inch) and a low frequency 250 mm (9.84 -inch) controller controller with a low 28Hz end, the addition of the latter means that AVID refers to this as a 3.5 -road speakers.
That is not something that the company has invented: the 3.5 -road speakers are not common, but there is a history of large, strong and prominent speakers with hidden low conductors.
The drive units are mounted on a rigid anodized aluminum deflector and a rear plate, and the speakers are available in two finishes: black or bright white.
As Conrad Mas explains: “The Evo Two developed in response to the comments of the clients that asked a speaker with a large presence and articulation of low range, while maintaining the clarity and characteristic opening of the Evo series.”
The Evo Two will be available through authorized distributors since September 2025 and the price is £ 27,995 / € 34,995 / $ 38,995 (around AU $ 57,589). I am not sure to block our list of the best stereo speakers at that price, but I would love to find out with a good long listening session …
