Toby Atwood, last year student at Thiel College and woman member tennis The team suddenly died during the weekend after collapsing during a half marathon in Pennsylvania, school officials confirmed.
The 21 -year -old Pennsylvania Native participated in the half marathon of the Presque Island in Erie on Sunday when he collapsed and died. Atwood’s cause of death was not known immediately.

“Toby was entering his last year in Thiel College and was a student, athlete and consummate for all the time at the university. His presence played the lives of many, and will be deeply surprised,” said the vice president of student life and athletics Michael McKinney in a letter sent to the community.
“During this heartbreaking time, we cried for Toby and extend our sincere sympathy to his family, friends, classmates, teammates, coaches, instructors and all who met her.”
Atwood was described as a “prominent” student, who maintained an average of 4.0 qualifications as business administration and double accounting specialization. Assisting Thiel College with a complete scholarship, Atwood served as president of Zeta Tau Alpha and was recently included in Chi ETA Sigma, the Honorary Society of National Commerce.

“Toby was a light in everyone’s life. There was never a boring moment with her and she was always there for the people who loved her,” said the fraternity of women in a statement.
“Toby really left his mark while he was with us. He was seen as a leader, model to follow and mentor. He was strong, resistant and never fear of saying what he thinks. There will always be a hole in our hearts and our chapter without her. He has touched the life of so many.”
Atwood was co-chapitan of the female tennis team. As a first -year student, he won four singles and two doubles matches.
