At least thirteen terrorists were killed when the explosives stored in one of their hiding places in the Bannu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) shot Sunday. In a separate incident, another terrorist was eliminated during a shooting at Dera Ismail Khan.
According to local sources, Siddiqullah Gurbaz, commander of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group of the Offerkek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), had seized the Jirga hall of the former provincial minister of PTI Shah Muhammad Wazir and turned into a militant base in the Bakakhel de Bannu area.
The terrorists gathered improvised explosive devices (FDI) on the site when the explosives detonated, which resulted in the death of thirteen people, including Gurbaz. A large IED cache, grenades, rocket launchers and other explosives in the complex had been stored.
Separately. A terrorist was killed in a fire exchange between security forces and militants in the Khowi Bahara area, on the outskirts of Dera Ismail Khan.
Security sources said the shooting took place within the jurisdiction of the Khowi Bahara police station.
The deceased terrorist was later identified as Zeeshan, son of Ghazi. Zeeshan was involved in several incidents in the areas of Jhangi Chowki and Punjab Lakhani and had become a symbol of fear in the region.
On Saturday, at least 45 terrorists were killed in anti -terrorist operations in different tribal districts of the KP in which 19 military were also martyred. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the head of the Army, Gen also, attended the funeral prayers for the martyred military.
