- Topping DX5 II has a double DAC design with three -stage amplification
- Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC and Aptx Adaptive/HD
- $ 299 / £ 299 – now available in the United States, during July 2025 in the United Kingdom
The new topping desktop DAC is surprisingly affordable for specification: the list price is only $ 299 / £ 299. It is a DAC, preamplifier and amplifier of high-resolution headphones that is designed for dual tasks such as an independent desk desk amplifier or as part of a HI-FI component system.
The DX5 II is the successor of the very acclaimed DX5 of Topping, and around two DAC chips Es9039Q2m of the Knowledge range of 32 bits of EsS Technology is built. One chip is dedicated to the left channel and the other on the right; Because the ES9039Q2M is a two -channel DAC chip, that means that there may be two differential signals by the channel, which says that it means a lower noise floor, a better separation from the channel and a better clarity.
Topping dx5 II: key features
The DX5 II admits PCM data to 32 bits/768khz through USB (24 bits/192khz through coaxial and optical inputs) and DSD to 22,5792MHz (DSD512). It is also compatible with DOP (DSD on PCM).
There is a new 32 -bit XMOS chip and 16 cores for USB data and a high performance controller for Windows; Other platforms do not require a controller. And there are Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC and adaptive APTX up to 24 bits/96 kHz and Aptx HD to up to 24 bits/48 kHz. The Bluetooth module also supports low latency, simple APTX, AAC and SBC.
There are three high -resolution digital inputs: USB, coaxial and optical, a 12 V trigger entering/leaving and three headphones outputs: balanced xlr, 4.4 mm balanced and 6.35 mm of a single end.
And the headphones work with the new X-Hybrid Topping headphones amplifier, which is a totally balanced four channel design based on the architecture composed of nested feedback (NFCA) with a three-stage design: input, stage of gain of operational operations and output.
Topping says that it is powerful enough to conduct even difficult magnetic headphones, with a 2x 7,600mw output power in 16 ohms, 2x 6,400mw in 32 ohms and 2x 990mw in 300 ohms through its balanced outputs.
The DAC/DX5 II headset amplifier will be available in the United Kingdom this July in a black, white or silver option, and is already available online in the United States.
