- FEVM FA65G Mini PC with Ryzen 9800x3D reaches 95 degrees under maximum thermal stress
- The noise of the system reaches its maximum point to 47 decibels when both the processor and the GPU are emphasized
- The chassis closely reflects Apple’s Mac Studio, but hides desktop class hardware
The Chinese FEVM supplier has introduced the MINI PC FA65G, a 2.5 -liter system built within a chassis that looks a lot like Apple’s Mac Studio.
The case measures 167.5 x 167.5 x 96 mm and weighs 1.85 kilograms, while the interior is a MINI-itx motherboard based on personalized B650 with an AM5 plug.
The unusual design allows the installation of a 9000x3D Ryzen processor together with discreet graphics in MXM form, creating a device that combines the power of the workstation with a compact footprint.
Hardware configuration and update options
The current construction focuses on the Ryzen 7 9800x3D, which FEVM is executed between 65 and 100 watts depending on the configuration.
Although it is marketed as one of the best CPU options for this form factor, the thermal reach 95 degrees Celsius in demanding tests, a level still within the tolerance but close to the limit.
According to the company, high -end processors, such as Ryzen 9900x3D or even 9950x3d, can also be installed, although these updates face the same thermal limits.
On the graphic side, FEVM has adapted rare MXM cards, including the ADA RTX 4080 LP and RTX 5000.
The company includes a personalized cooling system with four heat pipes and dual fans. An external adapter of 330 watts feeds these GPU.
The tests show that the RTX 4080 LP works near a desktx 3080 or RTX 4070, while passing through an RTX 5060 TI.
With these results, FEVM positions hardware as offering one of the best possible GPUs in such a small enclosure.
The FA65G provides two M.2 2280 slots with PCIE 4.0 X4 and up to 128 RAM Gigabytes DDR5-6400 through two SO-DIMM slots.
These, together with the Wi-Fi module, you can access the elimination of the lower cover.
The selection of ports resembles that of a Mac Studio, offered by USB4, USB-A 3.2 General, HDMI 2.1 Dual 2.1, Dual Displayport, two 2.5gbe nic and USB-C connections and USB 2.0 .0 Additional.
The stress tests show the CPU coverage 9800x3D Ryzen at 86 degrees Celsius to 90 watts, climbing at 95 degrees when adjusted to 100 watts.
The noise of the system measures between 41 and 47.3 decibels depending on the load, while the GPU works somewhat longer, reaching its maximum point to 74.3 degrees.
In the use of more typical games, FevM CPU temperatures remain closer to 80 degrees, with the GPU below 70.
At present, there is no confirmed price or launch schedule, but taking into account the shortage of the MXM GPUs, the configuration with a 9800x3D and RTX 4080 LP RTX and RTX 4080 LP would probably exceed $ 2,000.
