- The first iOS 26 developer is now ahead of its public beta launch in July
- One of its updates is a new option called ‘Keep Audio in headphones’
- This should reduce the problems of automatic change for wireless headphones
If you are tired that your iPhone automatically changes any other Bluetooth device other than your headphones, then iOS 26 has a delight for you, a new option for the audio to remain connected to your wireless headphones.
As seen by Macrumors, the new beta developer of iOS 26 has a new option so long -awaited called “Keep Audio in headphones” in the iPhone configuration. The new option will apparently live in the configuration section> General> AirPlay & Continuity and is specifically designed to prevent headphones from making unwanted connections with nearby devices.
Apple’s description of the function says “When AirPods or other connected headphones are used, keep the audio in its headphones when other playback devices such as cars and speakers connect to the iPhone.”
This happens to me all the time, whether my audio automatically changing to speakers in the car or my iPad when another person uses it. Clearly, I am not alone to find this frustrating discomfort, so Apple Fortunately includes this new option in iOS 26, and hopefully will reach the final launch of the software in September.
A little old on Bluetooth
Bluetooth is now more than 25 years old, so it is somehow miraculous that short -range wireless technology works as well as it does, however, it is also frequently frustrating.
Without the option to prioritize the order of its preferred Bluetooth devices, it may often seem that automatic change has its own mind. So, this environment, although not exactly one of the greatest characteristics of iOS 26, is definitely an adjustment of welcome quality of life.
It is not that it is the only frustrating problem related to Bluetooth with which we have to deal with. How our colleagues at What Hi fi? Recently it was scored, it is time for audio manufacturers to begin to standardize their Bluetooth matching processes too.
Of course, these are first world problems, but at least Bluetooth 6.0 is now being implemented to bring more refinements to technology now environment. These include the filtering and efficiency improved, which should bring benefits for the duration of the battery, along with a characteristic called channel Sounding to help improve the accuracy of ‘Find my device’ of Apple, Google and Samsung.
