- A new report states that we will not see any improvement of AI Siri on WWDC 2025
- A source states that Apple’s strategy “is a crisis”, while Bloomberg has seen internal data that shows that Apple “remains years behind its competition”
- Apple is working internally at LLM Siri, which could put the voice assistant up to date with competitors
If I was excited to see Apple’s Siri on WWDC in June, think again. A new report states that we will not be able to glimpse the improvements of Apple Intelligence Voice Assistant Voice next month.
According to Mark Gurman in Bloomberg, Apple’s new Siri, which was previously expected to be launched in early 2025, and instead delayed indefinitely, it will not be part of the key note of the WWDC next month.
On the other hand, Apple is expected to focus on new Intelligence characteristics of Apple, such as a rumored battery intelligence, which will help extend the battery life of its device through the AI power.
It is claimed that a senior member of Apple’s team told Bloomberg: “This is a crisis,” while another said that Apple’s strategy has “sinking for a long time.” Bloomberg says he has seen internal data that shows that Apple “remains years behind their competition”, despite an internal shaking and a new approach to its Siri strategy.
While we are unlikely to see something related to Siri, it could be the case of “good things come to those who wait”, since this in -depth report of Gurman offers a deeper vision of Apple’s new strategy and the powerful tool that the company is working.
A new incoming model?
According to Bloomberg, “employees say that Apple now has its AI offices in Zurich creating a new software architecture to replace the problematic Siri Hybrid, a so -called monolithic model, completely built in a LLM -based engine, which eventually would make Siri more credible and better conversational and better to synthesize information.”
That project is Codenammed Llm Siri, and it would be an important update of the voice assistant compared not only to what we currently have on the best iPhones, but even compared to the initial promise that Apple is shown in WWDC 2024.
It is claimed that Apple is training this LLM with synthetic data that allows the company to train the AI ”without feeding the real information of the user in the models.”
In WWDC 2025, we can expect Apple to show improvements to Apple’s intelligence, while “the sources say the company, despite its hopes of LLM Siri, is also preparing to separate the Apple intelligence brand of Siri in its marketing.”
Personally, I am still optimistic of Apple will change its recent artificial intelligence deficiencies. If that means waiting for more time for LLM Siri and functionality that really allow me to take advantage of the power of AI on my iPhone, then I am willing to wait. Apple, do not disappoint me.
