- Google Gemini goes to Android Auto soon
- A new video shows how integration will work
- The new AI will replace the Google assistant in cars
Gemini is assuming Google assistant control in all Google applications and devices, and Android Auto will make the change soon, as a new demonstration video shows that gives us an idea of how the AI assistant will work on the board of your car.
The video was captured on Google I/O 2025 and published by 9to5google, and can see how Gemini is in the right hand of the screen (or perhaps the left, depending on the rules of the road of your country).
If Gemini has used on his phone, the interface will be familiar, with the bright blue waves that show that Gemini is active. So you are free to ask the questions you have on the way, using natural language.
You may want to see the nearby service stations, for example, or make Gemini locate an event that is directed from her Google calendar. Anything you can do on your phone that you can do through Gemini on Android Auto.
More flexibility
Attend
A demonstration that Google showed was to use Gemini to compile a list of ingredients for a particular meal on Google Keep, and then ask for instructions in the local supermarket to collect the necessary supplies, all very impressive.
In general, it is much more flexible and smarter than the Google assistant. All their chats in the car will synchronize back to Gemini on the web and on their phone, so that it can resume where it left it on other devices and continue with the conversation.
With Android Automotive (so the version was built directly in cars), the interface is a bit more subtle, with a small emerging bar that Gemini shows. However, the exact appearance may vary according to your vehicle and the board of the board screen.
It is not clear exactly when Gemini will appear on Android Auto, but Google has said that it will arrive soon, and we have seen numerous signs that it is on its way. Gemini is already the predetermined assistant of AI in new Android phones.
