Sensay, a creator of digital replicas of people with AI, has established a government with AI on a real island that bought on the coast of the Philippines. Previously known as Cheron Island, Sensay Island has been renamed.
The Head of State (effectively, the president) of Sensay Island is the Roman emperor Marcus aurelius, one of the five good emperors of Rome, known for his love for stoic philosophy and good judgment. British prime minister Winston Churchill is the prime minister, while Sun Tzu, author of the Chinese strategic classic, The art of war, Take the reins in defense. Alexander Hamilton is the new Treasury Secretary.
According to Sensay, “every replica of AI is designed to emulate the personality, values and decision -making patterns of the historical figure that it represents, providing a style of governance infused with timeless wisdom and ethical principles.
To really emulate the character of these historical figures, each recreation is uniquely trained in the literature, teaching, philosophies and speeches of the counterparts of real life they represent. “
It remains to see the ease with the ease with which AI of the disparate periods and with such strong characters can work together in the government, since their contrasting values must surely face the points, not to mention to disagree with the modern values.
The full cabinet
Here is the complete list of Sensay Island cabinet members:
Head of State (President): Marcus aurelius
Prime minister: Winston Churchill
Minister of Foreign Affairs: Eleanor Roosevelt
Defense Minister: Sol Tzu
Treasury Secretary: Alexander Hamilton
Attorney general: Nelson Mandela
Minister of Science and Technology: Ada Lovelace
Minister of Education: Confucius
Minister of Health: Florence Nightingale
Minister of Agriculture: George Washington Carver
Minister of Environment: Wangari Maathai
Minister of Culture: Leonardo da Vinci
Ethics Advisor: Mahatma Gandhi
Innovation Advisor: Nikola Tesla
Infrastructure Director: Queen Hatshepsut
Strata Chief: ZHEGE Liang
Intelligence Chief: Te Lawrence
Personally, I think Davinci was a good choice for the Minister of Culture, and it is good to see that Nikola Tesla is recognized as an innovation advisor, but I must say that I am a bit disappointed not to see Queen Cleopatra anywhere in the mixture.
Confucio also presents some challenges as Minister of Education, considering his lack of familiarity with modern technology, such as AI.
A real island
Sensay Island is in fact a true island off the coast of the Philippines. You can find it on Google Maps. It has an area of around 3.4 km², which includes beaches, tropical jungle and coral lagoons.
From what we can see, there seems to be no infrastructure of any kind on the island, so if you are thinking of a visit, keep in mind that there is probably no Wi-Fi.
While an AI government feels like an advertising trick, there are serious reasons why Sensory has created an island of AI:
“Sensray is seeking to demonstrate that AI can be deployed in national governance to help the formulation of political parties for political partisanship and bureaucratic delays, and with unprecedented transparency and participation,” he says.
A fly on the wall
According to Marisol Reyes, the Tourism Manager (with AI) for Sensay Island, with whom he can chat on his website, can visit the island when he wishes:
“Absolutely, you can visit our beautiful island! We are delighted to welcome visitors to experience this unique combination of governance of the avant -garde and traditional Philippine hospitality. Sensay Island is open to tourists who wish to explore our virgin beaches, vibrant sanctuaries of coral, and witness the story in the creation with our innovative advice of AI.”
For those without the means to visit, the good news is that you can still get involved. Soon you can register as Sensay Island electronic resident, which will allow you to propose new policies for administration with AI through an open access platform:
“This will combine direct democracy with improved decision making with AI,” says Sensay.
Dan Thomson, CEO and founder of Sensay, added: “This project shows Sensay’s commitment to push the LEA limits in a responsible direction. I hope that our approach shows public and world leaders that AI is a feasible and efficient way to develop and implement policies.”
Despite a civilization controlled by AI that leads to human extinction (tried) in almost all the main science fiction films that I have seen in the last 40 years, of Logan’s Run to The TerminatorIt seems that humans are still determined to try it.
But could I provide a more balanced and sensible government than our elected officials? There is only one way to find out …
