- Nanoleof has launched a new screen relief light system for PC for Games
- It connects to its PC via USB-C instead of using a camera on the screen
- This should mean less latency and better color reproduction
Nanoleof, manufacturer of some of the best smart lights that we have tried here in Techradar, has thrown a new light strip designed to make the PC games more immersive, bathing the wall behind their monitor in a color wash that changes to reflect what is happening on the screen. And it is much cheaper than one would expect.
The idea is that, like an Ambilight television, the light strip effectively blurs the edges of the screen when extending their colors, helping to feel more involved in the action.
Many of Ambilight Alternatives (such as Nanoleof 4D and Smart Bars Gove Flow Pro Wi-Fi TV) can do it with any screen, including TV and PC monitors, but they usually work using a camera to monitor changing colors. This can work well in optimal lighting conditions, but the reflexes on the screen can throw things, and there is always a slight delay before the lights behind your television change the color to match.
With the new Nanoleof PC mirror screen, that should no longer be a problem because the system is directly connected to its PC via USB-C, and collect the data sent to your monitor. It is very similar to the way in which an HDMI synchronization picture of PHILIPS intercepts the HDMI signal that is being sent to its TV, and uses it to provide real -time synchronized backlight.
How to order
As Notebookck explains, the system also eliminates uncomfortable supports that make many light strips fit the back of televisions and monitors. Instead, it has a zig-zag shape that allows you to fold easily around the corners. It is compatible with monitors up to 32 inches, and can be cut to adapt to the little ones.
The PC screen light strip is controlled using Nanoleof desktop software, which is available for Windows and MacOS, but at the time of writing it is not compatible with the Nanoleaf mobile application.
It is now available for pre-pedd from Nanoleof for $ 49.99 in the US, £ 39.99 in the United Kingdom, and orders must be delivered at the end of March so that it does not have to wait long. The company has not yet announced prices or a launch date for Australia.
