We are delighted in CES 2025 with its rechargeable cassette player and recorder, and now you can have in your hands. The Cassette Edith We-001 player is now available for £ 129 / $ 159 / € 149 (around AU $ 269).
In addition to the player itself, the package also includes a pencil for those inevitable moments in which you need to replace the tape. It is a good touch and highlights the knowledgeable humor here: Redeembre is clearly having a lot of fun with this device, its design and its packaging.
Edith We-001 cassette player: key features
The We-001 may seem like a tape player of the 80s (and in fact the beautiful 2024 fixed option, built to honor the original TPS-L2 Sony Walkman), but takes advantage of some of the technologies that have become common since, you already know, the moment when Walkmen walked through the earth.
The most important of these technologies is Bluetooth. You can still use cable headphones if you want to look like a Cliff Richard music video (ask your grandparents), but the wireless is, of course, much more convenient.
The other key technology is that, instead of AA batteries, this player works with an internal rechargeable battery that is good for a fiance 12 hours of reproduction.
In addition to reproducing ribbons, the We-001 can also record in them, through its 3.5 mm connector. However, there is no internal microphone, and you can only record in type I cassettes. For reproduction you can use types I to IV.
The Edith We-001 is now available in selected retailers, including independent disc tents, and honestly, if it makes you want to take your neon sweat bands and go to a disco with Cyndi Lauper in your ears, I don’t know what you will do.
