- Vantrue updates its mini E1 with 4K video and a 158 degree lens
- The ‘Palepix’ technology improves the clarity of crucial details, such as plates
- It is also equipped with GPS and voice control functions, in addition to Vantrue’s application
Vantrue has presented the latest version of its compact series of Dash E1 cameras, the E1 Pro, and is equipped with a feature that makes a lot of sense for improved recognition of improved plate plates.
The latest model, which already has a more detailed 4K video than the original model, uses Vanntrue’s ‘platepix’ software to improve the clarity of the details that matter the most for the footage of the board camera, namely, the plates of the cars that surround it.
Combined with a brilliant F/1.8 opening lens, the circular polarizing filter (included), the 158 -degree wide angle perspective and Vantrue’s night vision mode, the E1 Pro’s Platepix Tech should offer some of the lighter video images of crucial details both day and night.
The cherry in the cake is the competitive price of the E1 pro equipped with GPS; $ 149.99 / £ 129.99 on Amazon, with discounts of $ 20 / £ 20 available at the time of writing.
The new dash cam to beat budget?
Vantrue has been in the Dash Cam game for 10 years, consistently delivering solid products that obtain well in our in -depth criticism, including the original E1. His latest model could consolidate the company’s reputation in this space.
The E1 pro seems a solid update of the E1, which offers videos of greater resolution and a series of improvements, all in a compact and affordable package.
There is a 4K video of up to 30 fps that can be improved using Vanntrue Platepix technology, to clarify crucial details. Vantrue describes the output as “Video 4K HDR which is 50% clearer than standard 4K HDR”.
We also obtain the last Sony Starvis 2 sensor used by most of the best board cams, a brilliant F/1.8 opening lens, a broader perspective of 158 degrees and an apparently decent image quality in low light through the nocturnal vision mode. All videos can also be labeled with GPS data.
Vanttrue includes a circular polarizer filter with the E1 Pro: it is the most effective tool to cut reflections that could otherwise darken crucial details, even its own windshield.
5G Wi-Fi must enable quick image loads and reliable voice command support, while a ‘buffered parking mode’ can record 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after the movement is detected, although it will need a wiring kit for this feature.
All this sounds very impressive for a board chamber that is currently available for $ 129.99 on Amazon US (applying a $ 20 coupon at the output), or £ 109.99 on Amazon UK (applying a coupon of £ 20). The E1 Pro with Hardwire kit is available through that same link, only for a bit of extra.
We are currently reviewing the E1 Pro and we will share our verdict soon, but according to its specifications, you will have difficulty finding a better camera for money. Our in -depth evidence will reveal whether the E1 Pro is offered for real world use.
