- The streamplayer atonem is a Wi-Fi complement for regular high fidelity systems
- It looks like a zippo lighter and is similar size
- 24 -bit DAC / 192KHz, and costs $ 99 / £ 99 (around AU $ 158)
If, like many people, you have a really excellent sound system that does not have updated transmission capabilities, the StreamPlayer Atoneme was made for you. It is a small and affordable DAC that adds high -resolution transmission audio to almost anything that can be connected to its aux port of 3.5 mm.
According to the CEO of Atonemo, Leo Ballesteros, the streamplayer was made to solve “a big problem” in the audio industry: “Why had no way of making a speaker intelligent? Is the way an Apple TV makes any TV smart?”
(It is fair to point out here that there have been enough products like this, including Wiim Pro, Audio Pro Link2 and, in the day, the Yamaha WX-AD10).
StreamPlayer Atonemo: key features
One of the key points of sale is that it is not blocked in a particular ecosystem or that depends on the whims or the quality control of the application of a single manufacturer.
The streamplayer works with AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, so it has compatibility with iOS and Android without requiring an independent application: simply use any transmission application that you prefer and send it to the streamplayer. There are also Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect.
As for the specifications, Wi-Fi 6 is looking at Bluetooth, a standard USB-C connector for lossless audio support and loss of up to 24 bits/192 kHz (although what you will get will depend on the service from which you are transmitting).
I like philosophy here: Ballesteros says they want to “let people choose the speakers they love, without worrying about connectivity, ecosystems or brand blockages.” If streamplayer does what it promises, this could be a very good way to add additional features useful to the best stereo speakers.
The streamplayer will be sent this spring for $ 99 / £ 99 / around AU $ 158.
