- The preview of Valve’s stems 3.7.0 comes with “Beautiful beginnings for Mazo No Stepe” computers “
- The PCs by the platform are not found soon we could use instead of Windows 11
- Such movement could unleash more power from the hands made by people like Asus, Lenovo and MSI
I would be lying if I said that I had not been looking forward to ages that Valve opened steam to other PCs and hand machines beyond its excellent steam cover. And after waiting, that seems to be finally with the recent previous view of Steamos 3.7.0 with the “support beginnings for hand computers.”
Now that it is not a lot to leave since it is only for a previous version of Steamos. But with a Lenovo Legion Go s model, we were fed by Steimos and get to arrive in May, we could see the advent of a new range of steam -based PC.
There are already ways to execute we are in cover machines, but support for them is not official and lack the skillful steam integration along the same line as the steam cover. The best portable PCs tend to run Windows 11 with a hand interface form at the top of the operating system and then take advantage of Steam’s large image mode to enable a portable game experience similar to the console.
Having native steam support would surely do all this more slippery for the new hand PCs and those that could be adapted or double boat with the Linux -based operating system of Valve. In our practical time with the Lenovo Legion Go s, they certainly sold us with the idea of the version of Steamos.
Steam dreams
While I still want Microsoft to work to refine Windows 11 to work more smoothly on the hand PCs, especially if it really makes Xbox hand, I think we are more at the height of the task of supporting the hand PC games, especially since it has had about three years to mature.
What excites me even more, is that when released Windows 11 Reliance, the portable PCs of Asus, Lenovo and MSI could take advantage of an operating system that requires less air resources and, therefore, can unlock more energy from the chips in hand PC.
The APU -based on AMD Zen 2 and RDNA 2 of Steam Deck is not as powerful as other chips in others by hand, such as the Asus Rog Ally X that has an extreme processor AMD Ryzen Z1 more powerful and graphics based on RDNA 3. But possibly the Steam deck offers the most elegant and soft game experience when one takes into account the software and the hardware.
Allowing the vapors to take care of the operating system and the interface could be the best of both worlds, with, for example, a next -generation Rog ally that looks a powerful APU with silicon power that can be easily accessed thanks to a lower need for computing resources.
All this could open a new way for hand PCs that could finally challenge the steam cover, at least in my eyes.
The only warning would be access to third -party games services. We were and the Steam deck were built around the users who take advantage of the wide range of games supported by the Steam store, instead of allowing easy access to Xbox Game Pass or the Epic Games pitcher.
However, there are already solutions to obtain the tastes of Xbox Cloud Gaming in the Steam deck; Valve does not seem to discourage this. So I would not be surprised to see that hardware manufacturers work to build in steam to integrate other pitchers in an orderly and easy to use way.
It is difficult to say when we could see more hand -based hand hand. But since we have just obtained the last previous view of Steamos, it should not spend much time before a complete version lets you enter nature; That could come in April.
If that happens, we could see a lot of hand PC that avoid Windows 11 to steal this side of 2025; I am crossing my fingers.
