- Tronsmart Fiitune X30 is now available for $ 179.99 (around £ 154 / au $ 322)
- 80W output with built -in subwoofer and “sky controller”.
- IPX6 water resistance and 14 -hour battery life
The Tronsmart Fiitune X30 is a direct rival of the Era 300 of Sonos, and has a particularly attractive quality: it is less than half of the price of the sounds.
When the Era 300 of Sonos has a list price of $ 449 / £ 449 / AU $ 749, the Fiitune X30 is launched with a price of $ 179.99 / € 179.99 (around £ 154 / au $ 322).
As expected, there are some differences in the specifications to achieve that much lower price. And if you take space sound seriously, one of those differences can be a decisive factor.
Fiitune X30: key features
The Fiitune X30 has six controller units, including a “sky controller” illuminated up to launch some audio to the ceiling, an active subwoofer, dual twoofer and drivers of average dual range. There are four low -pass radiators and the total output power is 80W. The frequency range is not specified beyond “a bandwidth of 40 kHz ultra wide”.
It is a portable design with an integrated handle, double device connection and IPX6 water resistance, and promises 14 hours of reproduction between charges, that is quite low compared to the best portable speakers, although there are many speakers to handle here, to be fair.
You can tune in the audio with the complementary application for smartphones for iOS and Android, and Android users can transmit audio to speaker in LDAC for the highest possible sound quality. The speaker can be used alone or about half of a stereo pair.
It is not a bad specification for money, but there is an important warning: the space audio here is not native, because the speaker is not compatible with Dolby Atmos (or rival space audio formats, but atmos is the crucial for music at this time).
Any spatial effect will be to ‘increase’ music to have an additional virtual height using that speaker mounted on the top, and the speaker will also add any 3D location beyond stereo.
That means that he is pointing to a market very different from that of Sonos, and I suspect that its true rival is not the era 300, but the Sonos Roam 2. The smallest sound is not as strong as the fixitune x30, it is 10W instead of 80W and has much less speakers, but it has a price identical to $ 179 / £ 179 / Au $ 299.
The Tronsmart could be a juicy set of speakers anyway, with a lot of power at a low price, but this could be a case in which it makes no sense to put the additional effort of the space speakers unless you will go all the way and include atmos.
