Peshawar:
Three people, including two women, were killed and seven other wounds during torrential rain and the wind storm through Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tuesday.
According to the PDMA report, the deceased included a man and two women, while three men, since many children and a woman are among the injured.
PDMA had issued warnings of heavy rains, wind and hail storm in the upper and central districts of the province. The heavy rain and hail storm hit Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Abbotabad, Haripur and other upper areas of the province.
According to the PDMA report, the heavy rain and the wind storm damaged wheat, vegetables and fruits crops in Mardan and adjacent areas. The calamity also reached the electrical system when 113 feeders were fired, causing the suspension of energy in many areas for hours.
In Peshawar, the rain and the storm of the wind caused generalized damage to the city infrastructure.
The solar panels installed in houses in Hayatabad were uprooted. In addition, a sign erected in the Hayatabad sports complex fell on a parked car underneath, damaging it badly. The strong electricity bowling uprooted in the industrial area, while the transmission lines were also affected, which caused a long -term power suspension in Hayatababad and adjacent areas.
There was a flood situation in Ring Road, since storm waters were filled until their capacity.
The traffic was also interrupted on different roads in the city. In addition, many trees fell into Charsada Road, Namak Mandi and Kohat Road.
Meanwhile, NDMA has issued a warning about the heavy to moderate rain that persists in the next few days, which represents a greater risk of land landslides located in Gilgit-Baltistan and KP.
The risk of landslides remains high in several areas, including Mansehra, Kolai Palas, Upper Kohistan, Darel, Diamir, Gilgit, Nagar and Hunza.
Residents have been advised in vulnerable areas that avoid unnecessary trips and remain attentive to potential dangers, including landslides, slope failures and rock falls. (more application entry)
