Three dear terrorists and “key agents” of the forbidden Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in a joint operation carried out by the Terrorism Department (CTD) and the police in Barikot Tehsil of the Swat district, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday.
In a statement, the CTD (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) pointed out that a raid directed in “verified intelligence” was launched with respect to the presence of terrorists.
“After the interception, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on the CTD team. The CTD responded with tactical precision, neutralizing the three militants on the spot,” said the statement.
The SWAT CTD referred to the terrorists eliminated as Fitna-Al Khawarij, a term used by the State for the members of the prohibited TTP, and added that the operation was supported by the Local Police.
The statement noted that the terrorists had been involved in IED explosions aimed at convoys of the law, armed attacks against police positions and infrastructure, and martyrdom of at least three police officers.
Among the murdered militants were alias Ajmal Waqas, son of Abdul Ghaff and resident of Mulkabad, Mingora, the statement said. According to the reports, it was sought in nine cases related to terrorism and had been involved in the objective murder of members of the Villa Defense Committee (VDC), an attempt to murder a defender and extortion of civilians. He had placed a reward of RS2 million for capture or elimination.
Another terrorist was identified as Matiullah aka Ishaq/Junaid, son of Ibrat Shah and resident of Dubsar, Martung in the Shangla district. It was sought in two cases of terrorism and had been related to specific murders of people who helped the agencies of application of the law.
The third murdered terrorist was identified as Rahimullah Rahmani aka Roohullah, son of Amanullah and resident of Shirey, Nuristan, Afghanistan. He was sought in two cases related to terrorism and had been involved in specific murders and facilitating terrorist activities.
“Intelligence reports also confirm that the cell was operating under the direction of foreign finance managers, with a foreign basis, with active plans to intensify attacks against security forces, public infrastructure and pro-stated individuals,” said CTD statement.
He added that the operation was a testimony of the dedication, precision and inter -institutional coordination of Swat CTD and the district police that remained committed to safeguarding regional peace and eliminating the threat of militancy.
Waziristán del Norte
According to the reports, two terrorists were killed and several others suffered wounds during a joint operation carried out by the Police and the security forces in the Shiwa Tehsil in the north of Waziristan.
The operation took place within the jurisdiction of the Chowk police post.

Meanwhile, a suspicious horror key involved in the attack on the police officer of the District of Hagu (DPO) Muhammad Khalid Khan was killed in a monitoring operation.
The operation was carried out by the Hugu Police at night on Friday night.
