Tiger Woods announces Achilles’ tear

Tiger Woods announced Tuesday that Achilles’ left tendon broke.

Woods said he underwent surgery on Tuesday, “was without problems” and “we expect a complete recovery.”

“Now I am back at home and plan to concentrate on my recovery and rehabilitation, thanks for all the support.”

Woods has been participating in its new company, TGL, a golf simulator league founded by Woods and Rory Mcilroy. He has associated with Tom Kim, Max Homa and Kevin Kisner.

Woods’s already bleak future is even more sinister. Since he ended up tied in ninth place in 2020 Farmers Insurance Open, his best end in his 18 official events since then he has been drawing in 37th position in the PGA 2020 Championship.

Last year, he competed in just five events, one of them was Invitational Genesis, the other four specialties. He retired from Genesis, ended the last dead in the Masters and the cut was lost in the last three largest.

Donald Trump has been ‘the facilitator’ in the discussions of PGA-LIV, says Jay Monahan

That came after competing only in Genesis and Masters in 2023, where he ended up tied in 45 and withdrew, respectively. In 2022, he played in the Masters (47ยบ), the PGA championship (retired) and the open championship (lost cut).

Just when Woods appeared he was going back to the clock, it looked like a false hope. In 2018, he finished second in the Fedex Cup classification. In 2019, he won the Masters.

Since then, it has been a difficult section for Woods, who, in 14 specialties since he won the green jacket in 2019, has failed to gather a Top 20 ending.

After the United States Open, Woods, who turned 49 in December, admitted that “may or may not be the last. His last injury raises more questions about his future.
