- The Nvidia G-Assist project is now live in the Nvidia application
- Use text and voice indications to optimize games, control hardware and provide diagnoses
- The tool remains experimental, with often updated functionality
The ingenious G-Assist project of Nvidia is now available within the official Nvidia application, bringing the assistant from AI to all, a year after the demonstration of technology for the first time. Yes, it is really this time, unlike the April 2017 Fools video, where it was a GTX 1080 -shaped USB device.
All RTX graphics card users can use the GPUS, and use the tensioner nuclei (AI nuclei) of those GPU to perform a variety of services, such as optimizing games configuration and system, diagnostic reports in depth in the game and answer questions.
Similar to some of the best AI tools, such as Google Gemini and Chatgpt, NVIDIA G assistance can answer the voice and text indications in the form of questions; You ask him to do things to get you to the games, and try to execute your commands.
The official Nvidia video goes through what is possible with its new assistant and how compatible hardware and software. In the clip, we see an admitted text message to ask how the generation of paintings works, which provides a succinct response. Similarly, the voice asks if the GPU controllers are updated, and G-Assist verifies the current controller installed. It works with a small language model based on a custom API.
It could be said that it is more interesting than its diagnostic and optimization capabilities is how G-Assist interacts with hardware. With the API support of third parties of companies such as Logitech, Corsair and MSI, it is able to control not only compatible lighting through a text or voice message, but also the speed/performance of its fans.
Later we see how Nvidia G-Assist optimizes Rust for the “best image quality”, which occurs almost instantly and then starts the game with a voice command. Clearly, experimental technology is in your childhood now, but we could see a broader use as Team Green deepens its set of characteristics and compatibility with more hardware and software in the future.
A new ingenious use for AI in games
Although Nvidia’s G-Assist project does not seem to be anything truly revolutionary, technology offers some useful shortcuts to optimize its system (and system hardware) with only a couple of text or voice command lines. Obviously, it will not work without problems with each game or hardware piece, but it is a new interesting way to optimize the quality of life characteristics.
The new Nvidia application is better than GeForce’s previous experience (which we were delighted to see). Anything to make the installation of drivers, optimize games directly from the pitcher and have to work efficiently, is correct for us. As an experimental characteristic, you can play with risk. It is worth seeing what it can do, even if its functionality may seem to a large extent inconsequential in the great scheme of things.
