The New England Patriots find themselves back in the Super Bowl for the first time since the Tom Brady Era in Foxborough, and it’s been a big turnaround for the franchise that has won just four games in consecutive seasons heading into 2025.

But while Brady spent 20 seasons leading the Patriots as quarterback, he is now a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and also serves as a broadcaster for FOX Sports during the season.

So, is Brady still rooting for his old team?

“I don’t have a dog in the fight on this one,” Brady said on his “Let’s Go” podcast, which aired Monday night. “May the best team win.”

Brady’s neutral response makes sense, but he has positive words for his former teammate, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, and what the team was able to do in its first year back in Foxborough.

“And in terms of the Patriots, this is a new chapter in New England, and I’m glad everyone has embraced the Mike Vrabel regime. All the incredible players who have worked so hard to get their club to this position. We did it for 20 years. There was a little bit of a lull there, but the Patriots are back, and it’s a very exciting time for everyone in New England.”

While Brady’s professional allegiances lie elsewhere, it’s hard to imagine anyone with a statue outside Gillette Stadium who wouldn’t be intrigued to see if he can get that first Super Bowl ring without him on the sideline. He also made sure to mention that those who believe he doesn’t want the Patriots to win a ring without him were “idiots” to think such a thing.

Meanwhile, some of Brady’s former Patriots teammates weren’t shy about their loyalty heading into Super Bowl LX between the Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, including Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman.

Brady, however, wants to support good individual performances.

“You support people and want them to have great performances,” he said. “Even as a broadcaster, when you’re up there, you’re nice [of] Represent what people are seeing (and I’m not working on this particular game), I just want to see good football. “I want to see good plays, good shots, good strategy, good decisions, and that’s the joy of the game for me.”

Brady will be with the FOX Sports team in Santa Clara for FOX’s pregame coverage of Super Bowl LX, although the game will air on NBC.

As the world watches what happens at Levi’s Stadium this Sunday, Brady may be taking a closer look at the Seahawks’ offensive game plan given his head coach’s situation.

Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak was reported to fill the Raiders’ vacant head coaching position, but he wasn’t able to make it official until after the game. Kubiak has been one of the game’s brightest offensive minds, reuniting with quarterback Sam Darnold after his stint with the San Francisco 49ers, while developing Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the league’s top receiver in 2025.

The Raiders also have an exciting offseason ahead, especially with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft expected to be used on Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
