Traffic deviations continued through Karachi on Wednesday when the metropolis recovered yesterday from the rains of the record monsoon, which were charged at least eight lives, left several floods flooded and interrupted the supply of energy and damaged roads.
Rain relief efforts continued overnight and for Wednesday morning, Sharah-E-Fafaisal cleared mainly, just like Shahrah-E-Bhutto. However, Korangi crossing near Qayyumanbad remained flooded and closed from both sides.
The vehicles were diverted from Qayyumabad Chowrangi to the Baloch colony and from the CNC cut to Godown Chowrangi, Express news reported.
The EBM Causeway Road near Mehmoodabad was also closed, with amusements established from Mehmoodabad to the highway and from Godam Chowrangi to Qayyumabad and Shan Chowrangi.
In Share Faisal, the airport track remained closed due to deep potholes and accumulated water, which forces traffic deviations from Star Gate.
Tariq Road’s underground passage in Shahrah-E-Millat and Dright Road Subpaase to the airport were also closed, with redirected vehicles to the service lane.
In Nazimabad, multiple underground steps, including Nazimabad no 1, Nazimabad no 2, Liaquatabad and Habib Bank’s stretching to Hakim Ibn-E-Sina Road, were closed to traffic.
In Sohrab Goth, the underground step was declared uncompromising, with the traffic of Shafiq Mor diverted about the underground step.

Monsora -related victims

According to an official notification issued by the commissioner’s office, the Government of Sindh declared a vacation on August 20 in the Karachi division, excluding the essential services, due to the monsoon rains in progress and the advice of the Department of Pakistan’s meteorology of more generalized showers.
