Training standards ‘aligned with the EU, GCC’

The Parliamentary Secretary of Federal Education and Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture, Farah Naz Akbar, informed the National Assembly that the Government has undertaken several initiatives to close the skill gap and align the Pakistani workforce with the demands with the demands of the Middle East labor market.

In response to a question during the session, he highlighted key measures, including the establishment of the Pakistan skills company and the Pakistan skills development fund to unify technical and vocational education throughout the country and create better employment opportunities for Pakistani workers abroad.

In addition, he said that the regulations of the National Vocational Qualification Framework (NVQF) have been reviewed to align Pakistan’s qualifications with the standards of the destination countries, including those of the EU and the CCG.

This step aims to improve the global competitiveness of Pakistani labor and boost qualified labor exports. The Government is integrating the skills for life and soft skills, such as communication, problem solving, teamwork, interpersonal skills and technical and vocational training programs. .

These skills are highly valued by employers in the Middle East and are crucial for job success. The curriculum is also being updated to reflect the latest trends and technologies of the industry, ensuring that Pakistani workers are equipped with relevant knowledge and skills to meet the evolutionary demands of the labor market in the Middle East.
