Trans athletes battle: Kate Sánchez warns ca others to fight girls

The legislature of the State of California will vote on a bill that would prohibit the biological men of girls’ sports in the state, since the State is currently one of the largest spotlights in the country for controversial incidents that involve trans athletes.

The State Secondary School Sports Association, the California Interest Federation, is currently under a federal investigation for possible violations of Title IX after several controversial incidents that involved Trans athletes occurred during the last year.

Governor Gavin Newsom recently said in an episode of his podcast who believes that the trans athletes compete in girls’ sports are “deeply unfair” but defended policies that allow it for the sake of sensitivity to the emotions of trans people.

On Thursday, the Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, sent a formal warning to Newsom and the rest of the State, suggesting that federal funds can be reduced to the State if it continues to allow trans inclusion in girls’ sports.

California’s assemblyman, Kate Sánchez, who proposed the state law to address the issue, AB 89, warned Democrats about the possible repercussions if they block this bill, both to the residents of the State and the reputation of their party.

“They must be very attentive because, obviously, President Trump is a man of his word, so losing this financing, is that really what they want to do?” Sanchez asked. “This is a fight, I am not sure that the Newsom administration really wants to assume, and if they do, President Trump has shown that it is really strong.”

Sanchez believes that the State cannot take the risk of risking federal funds on a subject that affects such a small population.

“There are so many school districts that would be at all anguish. I really hope that I do not reach that point. I hope we can reach a resolution and find a common land in this because we really need to return to the basics. I grew up in California. We are suffering. There are so many other problems, pocket book problems, on which we should focus.”

In California, a law called AB 1266 It has been in force since 2014, giving California students at the Scholastic level and collegiate the right to “participate in school segregated programs and activities, including athletics equipment and competitions, and use facilities consisting of their gender identity, regardless of the genres that appear in the pupil records.”

The law and subsequent authorization of Trans athletes compete with girls and women in the state have resulted in multiple controversies on the subject only during the last year.

Sanchez said he has spoken with dozens of voters in his state who identify as Democrats, but the problem has become so overwhelming that he is moving away those voters of the party. Sanchez added that he is becoming especially more common among Hispanic voters of the State.

“Our Hispanic communities, many of them in the state have called our office and have asked ‘please, please continue to press this bill,” said Sánchez.

“The Hispanic community is a family -oriented community, a hardworking and reflective that only wants to provide opportunities and security to your family, and your children and grandchildren. So we have obtained many conversations from top to them from them saying ‘What are happening? In front of a man.”

Sánchez’s bill is one of the two bills to prevent Trans athletes from competing in girls sports that will be voted on Tuesday. A second bill to address the same problem, AB 844, will also get a vote.
