The United States Department of Agriculture announced on Wednesday that the system of the University of Maine (UMS) agreed to comply with the executive order of President Donald Trump to keep transgender athletes outside women’s sports.
UMS, a network of eight public universities in Maine, was subject to a temporary pause in the financing of the USDA last week during a continuous battle between the State and the federal government on trans inclusion in women’s sports and girls. The financing was restored only a few days later.
The USDA now states that the UMS fully complies with Trump’s executive order.

“After the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) initiated a review of Title IX with respect to federal financing, the system of the University of Maine (UMAine) has clearly communicated its compliance with the requirement of Title IX to protect the equal opportunities for women and girls to compete in safe and fair sports, as articulated in the executive order of President Donald J. UMS Chancellor Dannel Malloy provided a statement to Pak Gazette Digital, saying that the system is “relieved” to have understood with the USDA.
“The University of Maine has always maintained compliance with state and federal laws and with the NCAA rules, which the United States Department of Agriculture also said today in a press release,” said Foreign Minister Malloy.

Only a few hours after that interaction, the United States Department of Education announced that investigate the State to allow transgender athletes to compete in girls sports and for possible violations of title IX.
The United States Department of Health and Human Services has already determined that the State and its Education Department violated Title IX by allowing transgender athletes to compete and warned that it will make a derivation to the United States Department of Justice if the State does not provide a written agreement to comply with Trump’s executive order.
