Transgender in sports: pro-trans protest outside the house of the censored representative


The activists protested outside the house of Maine Laurel Libby on Sunday as opposed to their beliefs about transgender athletes in women’s and girls sports.

Libby was censored last week by the State Representatives Chamber for a recent position on social networks indicating that an athlete of transgender high school had won a girl’s competition.

The democratic majority of the House of Representatives of Maine, directed by President Ryan Fecteau, approved the resolution of censorship on Tuesday night in a 75-70 vote. Libby is no longer allowed to speak on the floor of the camera or vote until it emits an apology.

Only eight protesters appeared outside the house of Libby with signs that said “shame in Laurel 4 exploiting a child 4 their political gain” and “protecting the trans young people”, according to Maine’s cable.

As for Libby, he told Pak Gazette Digital last week that he would not apologize for the publication. She did not immediately respond to a request for comments on Sunday’s protest outside her home.

“It is a notable double standard, since there are public photos of this individual in many places, on social networks and even some published by his school, so yes, this publication went viral, but this was a person who participated in a public event, who stood publicly in a podium and accepted a championship medal that belonged to the girls in second place,” Libby said.
