Travis Hunter’s father was arrested in Florida this week for allegedly violating his probation, according to online records.

According to the reports, the father of the Heisman trophy winner was “too far from his monitoring device to be tracked precisely”, since his whereabouts was unknown on the night of June 28 for 11 minutes.

He said he was in a room while the device was in the living room. Then he said on July 1 that he extracted the monitor, said USA Today. An arrest warrant was issued on July 10.

He was released from the prison approximately one week before Hunter received his Heisman, and a Florida court gave him access to travel to Green Bay for the NFL draft in April.

Hunter Mr. was limited to travel only to and from the hotel and the draft and had to return home the day after the first round. He was asked to present a travel itinerary to the control officer of his community.

When winning the Heisman, Hunter was excited when he talked about his father.

“I want to tell my father something. He is not here and could not do it, but I know you are watching on television. Dad, I love you. For all the things you went through man … Now, look at your older son. I did it for you, man,” he said.

“Every time you couldn’t see me, or the times you came to watch my games. Not seeing two games at high school until I saw me on television every weekend and come to see me. That means a lot to me. I know you wanted to be here, and you can’t, but trust me, I have you. I brought you the trophy home. I love you.”
