Unfortunately, Travis Kelce’s harmless sport turned out to be detrimental to a fan watching the golf game.
The 36-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end reportedly forcefully hit a woman on the 18th hole, who was left shaken by the blow.
Golf course staff at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am rushed to help the injured woman and Kelce soon joined them asking if she was okay.
The fan, identified as Edenne Flinn, of Salinas, California, assured the NFL star that she was fine and then signed him an autograph.
The accident quickly went viral on social media, with fans attacking the athlete for his careless shot that injured a bystander.
Social media sleuths also mentioned similar incidents in the past where Kelce left people “bloodied” due to his accidental shootings.
One X user wrote: “Wait, Travis Kelce played in a golf tournament this weekend and hit a girl with one of his golf balls? And all she got was an autograph? And even more egregious is that this is the second time this has happened!
Another added: “He should be back on the football field now,” while a third joked: “Bro is treating the golf course like NFL relaxation exercises.”
On the other hand, many also appreciated the star athlete for immediately going to see the injured fan.
