New York – President Donald Trump arrived at Yankee Stadium on Thursday and spoke with the New York Yankees before his 9/11 match against the Detroit Tigers.
Trump landed in New York shortly after 6 pm, and a couple of hours before, the Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Trump was meeting with the team at the Club house before the game.
“I had the honor and fortune of some presidents over the years, the first releases or whatever. So the fact that he is here, I am excited to be part. I do not know how it will be, but interact with him for a few minutes, something I am looking forward to,” said Boone.

On Thursday he marked the first time Trump attended a major league baseball game from the 2021 World Series between the Houston Astros and the Atlanta braves after his presidential mandate. Before Thursday, his last match as acting president was in the 2019 World Series between the Astros and Nationals of Washington.
Trump announced earlier this month that he would attend the game. The Yankees announced him on Wednesday and urged fans to get early and take public transport. The doors opened at 4 pm et, 90 minutes earlier.
Before Trump’s arrival, the Yankees score showed the highlight of the 2001 World Series between the Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks won the series in seven games, but the victories of the Yankees in games 4 and 5 ended in dramatic tours, less than two months after the September 11 attacks.
It was already guaranteed to have a greater presence, following the murder of Charlie Kirk, security was promoted throughout the stadium with the secret service and tracked the dogs out of the doors.
Boone, Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon placed a crown on the September 11 monument in Monument Park on Thursday.
Next season, the Yankees and the New York Mets will face the Yankee Stadium on the 25th anniversary of the attacks. They played in Citi Field on September 11, 2021.
