As the largest Memcoin buyers of President Donald Trump, as the founder of Tron, Justin Sun, enjoy their attention during dinner on Thursday, Democratic legislators and defense groups have presented a series of protests and complaints of complaints to denounce the president’s cryptographic event as fundamentally corrupt.
Trump will organize his dinner for more than 200 of his main investors in Memecoin, whose money will fill the coffers of the president’s commercial entities. According to the reports, they have been invited to their golf course in the capital area, the Trump National Golf Club Washington, DC, outside of which Memecoin buyers can find protesters.
Part of the counterprogramming for your dinner will begin earlier in the day in front of the Capitol building. At 12:45 PM, the representative Maxine Waters, the main Democrat in the Chamber Financial Services Committee, will bring together other legislators in the face of the steps of the Chamber to criticize Trump, accusing him of abusing his powers of the White House to “promote and blatantly benefit from a series of crypts linked to himself and his family”, according to a warning on the event.
Waters will also present a new messaging bill “to block Trump’s memory and stop its cryptographic corruption, once and for all.” The legislation, which is unlikely to advance in a Republican majority congress, would prohibit the presidents, vice presidents, members of the congress and their families “participating in similar cryptomers.”
It is the same type of prohibition that Democrats had been trying to insert into cryptographic legislation, but Republicans have refused to let the language direct Trump in the current bills of digital assets, including the effort of the stablcoin Senate approaching the finish line.
Later, on Wednesday at 2:30 PM, another press conference of Democratic legislators will feature senators Chris Murphy and Elizabeth Warren, who have been prominent in Congress criticism against Trump’s cryptographic actions. Murphy had introduced his own bill with an objective similar to that of Waters, the Modern Emoluments Law and Malefruzas Compliance (MEME) to prevent federal officials from using their positions to benefit from digital assets.
That event, also outside the Capitol, will also feature Senator Jeff Merkley, who also intends to join a night protest just outside the Trump golf course, organized by progressive groups under the banner of our revolution. The message of the rally “America is not on sale” is to go back “a shameless example of political access that is sold to the highest bidder,” according to the group.
The guest list for Memecoin’s dinner has not been made public, but the analysis of the purchase of these coins suggests that the largest spending dedicated millions for the privilege of joining the president in the event. The anonymity of the attendees is part of the problem, according to critics, who say that foreign buyers are gaining access to the president without the public’s knowledge.
The debate on the president’s cryptographic ties temporarily delayed the progress in the United States Stablecoin’s legislation aimed at establishing rules for national issues, but the bill was on its way this week to eliminate an important obstacle in the Senate on Monday.
Trump’s team has minimized accusations of corruption. The White House official, Bo Hines, said last week at the Consensus 2025 Conference of Coindesk in Toronto that Trump family cryptocurrencies do not raise conflicts of interest, and have “the right to participate in capital markets.”
