President Donald Trump threatened to hang the plans of Washington’s commanders to build a new stadium in DC in balance if the team did not return to Redskins nickname.
Trump exerted pressure on the commanders and guardians of Cleveland, on Sunday, calling both organizations in two positions made in Truth Social.
“My statement about the Redskins of Washington has exploded completely, but only in a very positive way,” Trump wrote in a second social publication of truth. “I can put a restriction on them that if they do not change the name to the ‘Washington Redskins”, and getting rid of the ridiculous nickname, ‘Washington commanders’, I will not make a deal to build a stadium in Washington. The team would be much more valuable, and the agreement would be more exciting for everyone.”

The president added that the guardians should do the same.
“Cleveland should do the same with the Cleveland Indians. The owner of the Cleveland baseball team, Matt Dolan, who is very political, has lost three elections in a row due to that ridiculous change of name,” Trump added. “What he does not understand is that if he changed the name to the Cleveland Indians, he could actually win an election. The Indians are being treated unfairly. Make the Indians again again (crumb)!”
Paul Dolan is the owner of the team. Matt Dolan has a minority participation in the organization.
Pak Gazette Digital contacted the commanders to comment.
Trump made the original demand for the teams to change their names the earliest Sunday.
“Washington ‘whatever it is’ should immediately change your name to the Washington Redskins football team. There is a big cry for this,” Trump wrote in Truth Social on Sunday. “Similarly, the Cleveland Indians, one of the six original baseball teams, with a historical past.
“Our great Indian people, in large quantities, want this to happen. His inheritance and prestige are systematically removed. Times are different now that three or four years ago. We are a country of passion and common sense. Owners, do it!”
The president of the Guardians, Chris Antonetti, responded to Trump’s pressure in the middle of the afternoon. He said that it was not something that the organization had in mind.

“But I would say that in general, I understand that there are very different perspectives about the decision we made a few years ago,” he said, through Cleveland.com. “Obviously, it is a decision that we have made and had the opportunity to build the brand as guardians in the last four years and we are excited about the future.”
The Guardians had no additional comments on Trump’s publications.
The owner of the commanders team, Josh Harris, joined Trump, to the mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser and the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, in the Oval office when the agreement for the RFK stadium site was announced.
The legislators of the Congress supported Harris returning to the old stadium site with the condition that the team and the NFL would honor the old Redskins logo. Senator Steve Daines, a montification Republican, said in November that he would support the organization in the future with his plan after “good faith negotiations” with both entities.
“We were calling leaders in case you really woke up badly,” Daines said at that time. “The irony that they were canceling the culture of the Native Americans as the Dei movement came too far. But Harris made it clear in an interview in the “special report” of Pak Gazette Channel that there were no plans to recover the name of Redskins.

“The name of the commanders has actually acquired a surprising type of element in our building,” Harris replied to Bret Baier’s question about the name of Redskins that returns as part of this new stadium agreement. “So, people that certain types of players are difficult, who love football, are delegated commanders and Jayden [Daniels]For example, he is a commander, and are classified.
“And, you know, the commercial staff has gotten into it, and obviously, we are in a military city here. There are more military personnel than anywhere else, so we are moving forward with the name of the commanders, excited about that and not looking back.”
