Trump receives the FIFA Peace Prize in the World Cup draw

President Donald Trump received the first FIFA Peace Prize on Friday at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, during the World Cup final draw.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented Trump with the award, which included a trophy of golden hands holding a soccer ball. He was also rewarded with a medal which he wore almost immediately.

“This is truly one of the great honors of my life,” Trump said. “Beyond the awards, Gianni and I were discussing this, we have saved millions and millions of lives… The fact that we were able to do that, so many wars that we were able to end, in some cases, a little before they started, we achieved them.”

TRUMP SAYS WE ARE READY TO FOLLOW THE WORLD CUP, AND WE WILL ‘TACKLE’ CRIME IN HOST CITIES

Trump created the World Cup task force earlier this year, as the United States will host 11 of the 16 host cities for next year’s event.

The president has also threatened to move games out of cities if they are unsafe, sparking a war of words with Boston’s mayor earlier this year.

The championship game will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
