Each year, NFL owners vote on possible changes in the rules that go to the next season, and a particular proposal has caused a generalized debate.
The Green Bay Packers presented a proposal to ban the famous play of “Tush Push” of the Philadelphia Eagles, where Field Marshal Jalen Hurts is determined in short yards situations, especially in the goal line for a touchdown.
While there is a great debate about whether the play should remain in the game or not, President Donald Trump showed on which side of the fence is during the White House team celebration for his Super Bowl Lix victory on Monday afternoon.

Discussing that 40-22 won about the Kansas City Chiefs, which Trump was present in New Orleans, he mentioned his first touchdown scored, which turned out to be pushed to the final area to take the lead.
“The Eagles scored a touchdown in their signature game: the impulse of Tush. Do you know what that is? I hope they keep that play, coach, I don’t know,” Trump said, looking at the Eagles chief coach, Nick Sirianni. “They are talking about getting rid of that play, I understand. They should keep it. What do you think Saquon [Barkley]?
“I like it. It’s something exciting and different.”

The NFL owners are expected to continue discussing a possible prohibition of the work after presenting it until the next meetings of the owners from May 20 to 21 in Minnesota.
The Packers had 16 teams that support their proposal, but a minimum of 24 owners must approve the change to pass.
The change of rule specifically establishes the prohibition of an offensive player who has the ability to immediately push his teammate who is aligned directly behind the Pargo and receives the moment.

The NFL generally does not approve the rules that are directed to a specific team, which it seems to do. While it is a legal play, the Eagles have gained greatly in the last three seasons. Only Buffalo’s tickets have remotely approached the success of the Eagles, after using their own version of IT with a considerable amount with Field Marshal Josh Allen, the MVP of the League, last season.
However, Trump wants the league to return to something they changed in the 2024 season: departure kicks.
“I would like to see something done,” he said. “However, I would like to go back to regular kick. We don’t like that start where nobody moves. The ball is in the air and nobody moves.”
The NFL owners modified the starting structure for the 2025 season, since the touchbacks will be marked in the 35 -yard line, a movement that is expected to raise the return rates.

But Trump will not be happy to see that players will not run down as they used to do it. They must wait until the ball touches the ground, or the return man makes contact with the ball.
Trump, the Eagles and all those who love the NFL will be waiting patiently to see if the push of Tush will remain in the game.
