Saquon Barkley won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, but his past with the New York giants is still a topic of conversation, even for the president of the United States.
The Eagles were at the White House on Monday afternoon to visit President Donald Trump to celebrate his Super Bowl Lix victory.
Barkley and Trump had left together before the ceremony, since they were seen in Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, before flying back to Washington together on Air Force One.

During Trump’s speech about the Eagles, he could not help remembering a conversation he says he had with giant coaches before Barkley made the decision to go to Philadelphia in free agency.
“By the way, I have to tell you something,” Trump said while talking about Barkley’s tremendous feat against the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he passed back on a defender. “I was with the giants and the chief coach and some people and said: ‘Do anything you have to, but do not lose Saquon.’ They lost Saquon.

“That was not good. I called that. It was easy to call because he played very well for the giants. I can tell you that. He made the right decision because it is a team sport, and there are great people in this team.”
Throughout the 2024 season, Barkley and the giants have been tied because he went to their east eagles of the NFC in free agency. The organization had control to extend it in the past, but they could never do the job.

He did not help the giant fans that Barkley took off like a rocket with the Eagles, and never looked back. Finally, the offensive player of the year won after breaking a league record with the largest amount of yards per land in a single season, including the postseason with 2,504.
Barkley seemed to react with a laugh directly behind Trump when he mentioned the giants.
“It’s a handsome guy, but I wouldn’t like to address it,” Trump said about Barkley. “… It’s great. I got to know him a little. I offered a trip on Air Force One because he was going down and, usually, they say: ‘No.
Barkley had to defend his time with Trump after many ridicule him on social networks.

Before the ceremony at the White House, Barkley posted in X.
“Lol, some people are really annoying because I played golf and flew to the White House with the president,” Barkley tweeted on Monday. “Maybe just respect the office, it is not a difficult concept to understand. Only golf with Obama not long ago … And I hope to finish my round with Trump! Now, now you go out of my mentions with all this policy and have an incredible day.”
