Some of President Donald Trump’s most fierce critics shared the attention center with the president while watching the US Open in New York City on Sunday afternoon.
Bruce Springsteen, Lindsey Vonn, Anna Wintour and Stephen Curry were just some of the athletes and celebrities that were in the stands of Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, Queens. There have been some of the president’s greatest critics outside the world of politics.
Springsteen, while in Europe in June, described Trump and his administration “Traitor”. He urged his fans in Germany to face him against “authoritarianism.”

“The America that I love, the America on which I sang him, which has been a lighthouse of hope and freedom for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and traitorous administration,” he told the crowd during his set.
Vonn, who won a gold medal at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, said in 2017 that he would not represent Trump at the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea.
“Well, I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president,” he said in 2017.
In January, he set out to say that he was not paying attention to American politics while competing in Italy.
“Many things are happening in the United States and not everything positive,” he said when he asked if he was going to see Trump’s possession. “So I’m excited to have a break.
“That is what I love about ski races, which when I am at the initial door, that’s all I think,” Vonn added. “I am not thinking about the world and my life and what else is happening. I’m just thinking of going fast and I like that simplicity.”

Anna Wintour, the former editor in Chief of Vogue, has had a great dispute with Trump in recent years. She criticized her handling of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Wintour seemed to be reluctant to have the first lady Melania Trump on the cover of the fashion magazine after her husband became president.
Curry had a dispute on high profile social networks with Trump. Curry suggested that he didn’t want to go to the White House to celebrate the 2016-17 NBA Championship. Trump withdrew the invitation.
The Golden State Warriors star went further in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2022.
“Most of his rhetoric, before being president, during his four years, and even now, if he tries to run again, he has a division tone that does not have a place in our country,” Curry told the magazine. “As serious and strong as the threat is of him or any other person who runs for a position, there is a similar urgency and a volume that is necessary on the other side.”
Trump entered the stadium less than an hour before the game began. He was received with cheers when he initially entered the place. During the national anthem, the president received some applause and boos when he appeared in the Videoboard.
