TTAP convoy arrives in Lahore today

Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai addresses a joint press conference along with party MP Allama Nasir Abbas Jafri and PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan in Islamabad, Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

LAHORE:

The leadership of Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Ain-e-Pakistan (TTAP), headed by its chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, will arrive in Lahore today in a bid to keep alive the momentum that the PTI believes was generated during KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s recent visit to the city.

According to PTI sources, opposition leader Moeen Qureshi will meet the TTAP chief in Islamabad on Thursday morning, from where they will leave for Lahore in convoy via GT Road.

According to TTAP spokesperson Akhunzada Hussain, Achakzai, Allama Raja Nasir, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Asad Qaiser will be part of the delegation.

However, PTI sources claimed that Asad Qaiser would not join the delegation as he is scheduled to hold a press conference at KP House along with lawyer Gohar Ali Khan and Salman Akram Raja on Thursday around 2 pm.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar has a prior family commitment and is expected to join the delegation on Friday. The TTAP spokesperson said the delegation would be received at five different points between Gujar Khan and Data Darbar.

He said he was expected to arrive in Lahore at 7 pm and Zaman Park would serve as a base for his political activities. He added that Moeen Qureshi was making arrangements for a possible compromise in the Punjab Assembly; however, that plan had not yet been finalized.

A PTI source said the party had already approached Imran Khan’s sister for permission for an engagement at Zaman Park, though the schedule is not final yet.

He said all other commitments remain unconfirmed and arrangements were being finalized on the fly. According to him, the first reception will be held at Gujar Khan, followed by lunch at Jhelum.

Another major event is being planned in Gujrat, with the penultimate reception at Shahdrah, while the last reception would be at Data Darbar. He added that activities in Punjab Assembly, Minar-e-Pakistan and other places were also being considered.

Akhunzada Hussain, in a later verification, confirmed that Asad Qaiser and Mustafa Nawaz would not accompany them for the above-mentioned reasons, but stated that both of them, including Asad Qaiser, will join later. He also clarified that Zaman Park will continue to be the base of his activities, and that the permit for this was granted a month ago. He said Zaman Park is a symbol of resistance and the PTI has no objection in this regard.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Brigadier (retd) Mushtaq said an all-out fury of police action was unleashed on party leaders and workers in Jehlum on Wednesday, including arrests, looting of houses, banging on doors and harassment.

He said that in Jhelum district, the house of the party’s district general secretary was ransacked and the district president was arrested.
