Tulane’s basketball star, Gregg Glenn III, died in what the university called a “tragic accident” on Monday.
Glenn was 22 years old.
“With a deep sadness that I communicate today,” wrote the vice president of Student Affairs Sarah Cunningham in a letter to the “Tulane community.” “We have lost an appreciated member of our university community, Gregg Glenn III, who died in a tragic accident this weekend. He was a talented athlete student who enriched our lives with his spirit, dedication and passion for sports and academics.

“Gregg was an outstanding athlete in our male basketball team and an individual who brought joy and light to those around him. His commitment to excellence inspired many of us.”
Cunningham’s announcement did not disseminate details about the “tragic accident.”

“The oldest of his brothers, Gregg, was a student of health and well -being of Pompano Beach, Florida. Known for his contagious personality, positive energy and kindness, enlightened every room in which he entered. Well known in the area of southern Florida because of its provocation of basketball, many we will miss it a lot.
“Let us remember Gregg not only for their achievements in sports, but for the kindness and warmth he shared with everyone. He will always remain part of our university family.”

Glenn was a product of Calvary Christian High School in Florida, where he got up to become a prospect of division I.
He began his career in university basketball in Michigan, where he played only four games in his first year.
Glenn would transfer to Tulane for the 2023-24 season, where he played mainly from the bank, averaging 3.6 points in 9.7 minutes per game.

Last season, Glenn had a year of rupture, starting the 34 games in the future. He averaged 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
