At least two people lost their lives and four others were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Dasht area of Turbat, Balochistan, on Wednesday, according to police reports.
The explosion also caused significant damage to a vehicle, authorities confirmed. The deceased and injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical assistance and post-mortem procedures.
Providing more details, law enforcement revealed that the remote-controlled device detonated while the victims were traveling in the vehicle.
The deceased have been identified as Zaman and Umer Zahoor. Among the injured, who are currently receiving treatment, are Naeem, Javed, Ameen and Waheed.
Authorities are investigating the incident and security measures have been intensified in the region to prevent further incidents.
