In a great advance in the investigation of the tragedy of the Libya 2025 ship, the Kohat area of ​​the Federal Research Agency (FIA) Kohat arrested two members of an international network of trafficking in persons.

The suspects, Habibur Rehman and Naveed Ahmed, were arrested in a raid in Pusht Bazaar, Bajaur.

According to the officials, the arrested individuals were part of a network that operated together with Italy -based accomplices, including Wajid Ali and Shah Faisal. The gang was involved in the smuggling of people to Europe through illegal channels. The tragic boat accident became the lives of 14 victims of Kurram, who had been attracted to the dangerous trip.

The researchers revealed that the suspects had disappointed a citizen named Shehzad Hussain of RS3.7 million, promising to facilitate their trip to Europe. They, along with their accomplices, extorted great sums of multiple victims. Hussain, like many others, tragically lost his life in the ship’s disaster.

During the raid, the authorities recovered four mobile phones that contain crucial evidence, including videos, images, messages and bank transactions, which allowed the freezing of three bank accounts linked to the suspects.

Preliminary investigations also revealed that the victims were arrested in safe houses in Libya, where they faced physical abuse before being forced to the lack of boats to Europe.

The FIA ​​has launched extensive investigation into the case and is collaborating with Interpol to stop the fugitive traffickers operating abroad. The director of the FIA ​​Kohat area said that the repression of those responsible for such tragedies is ongoing.

He said that all available resources are being used to track and arrest the traffickers of people, and that intelligence -based operations are being carried out to dismantle these networks.

“No one will be allowed to play with innocent lives,” he said, adding that the suspects will face the entire force of the law based on solid evidence.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed last week that 16 Pakistani citizens had died in a boat accident on the coast of Libya, with at least 10 missing.
