Two dead, 18 injured in the southern Waziristan remote control explosion

Wana: At least two people were killed and another 14 were injured when a remote controlled explosion occurred near a police truck in the Wana Rustam Bazar area of Bajo South Waziristan, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Imran Ullah on Thursday.

With the police confirming that the injured also include two police officers, DSP Imran has said that an emergency has been imposed at the Wana Hospital of the District Hospital (DHQ) and that two of the injured were in critical condition.

The incident occurs one day after three border police personnel (FC) were martyred when unidentified attackers opened fire against their vehicle in the Garagri area of Karak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Separately, a specialist in the Pakistan army, along with two soldiers, was martyred by terrorists backed by India in the Mastung district of Baluchistan on Wednesday.

In a statement, public relations between services (ISPR) said that at night between August 5 and 6, the terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan pointed to a vehicle of the security forces with an improvised explosive device (FDI).

Martyrdized staff were identified as the greatest Muhammad Rizwan Tahir, Naik Ibni Amin and Lance Naik Muhammad Youunas.

Terrorist incidents come in the context of the increase in attacks in Pakistan, especially KP and Baluchistan, which share a border with neighboring Afghanistan.

The country saw a slight decrease in terrorist attacks in June, according to a report published by the Institute of Conflicts and Security Studies of Pakistan (PETSS), a group of experts based in Islamabad.

The organization registered 78 militant attacks throughout the country during the month, which resulted in at least 100 deaths. Among the deaths were 53 security personnel, 39 civilians, six militants and two members of the local peace committees.

A total of 189 people were injured, including 126 members of the security forces and 63 civilians.
