
Two people were killed when firefighters approached a fire were ambushed by an unknown number of armed men in a continuous confrontation in the northwest of Idaho de Idaho on Sunday, the local sheriff said.
It was not clear immediately if there was a gun or more, said Sheriff Bob Norris at a press conference, adding that civilians may have been beaten in the incident that takes place in a natural area in Coeur d’A Alene.
“We are prepared to neutralize this suspect who is currently actively shooting to public security personnel,” said Norris.
The Secretary of National Security Kristi Noem has been informed about the Idaho shooting, ABC News reported.
The firefighters received the first call from a fire around the local time of 1:21 PM, Norris said, and about 40 minutes later, reports arose that they were shooting them.
“This is an atrocious direct assault on our brave firefighters,” said Idaho Brad Little governor about X. “I ask all Idaho.
Little did not give more details about any victim or how the incident was developed.
“As this situation is still being developed, keep clear in the area to allow the police and firefighters to do their job,” Little added.
