The Federal Research Agency (FIA) arrested two suspects, including the leader of a gang allegedly involved in the kidnapping and torture of a Pakistani citizen in Türkiye. According to the officials, the offensive against trafficking in persons was carried out under the directives of the Director General of the FIA, Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir. The FIA ​​antihuman traffic circle in Abbottabad made a raid in Haripur, arrested two "Notorious traffickers of people, Muhammad Shehzad and Ghulam Farooq". The authorities said Shehzad was on the most won list for human smuggling and was identified as a partner of Zahid Khan, another trafficker who operates in Türkiye. Shehzad, along with his accomplices, sent a Pakistani citizen to Türkiye, where he was hostagely and brutally tortured. The reports indicate that the traffickers got to get the nails from the victim while demanding the rescue of their family. The gang attracted the offices with promises of employment abroad, only to keep them captive upon arrival. Ghulam Farooq, one of the arrested suspects, directed a travel agency without a license. The authorities recovered three passports and other evidence of the suspects, which were also declared guilty of defrauding the people of millions of rupees.
