The UCI World Tour returns in 2026 and will once again feature 18 teams competing for glory across 36 events, starting with the Tour Down Under from January 21-25 and concluding with the Tour of Guangxi from October 13-18.
Last year, Tadej Pogačar and his UAE Team Emirates-XRG team dominated the competition, with the Slovenian winning eight World Tour events, including the Tour de France and three of cycling’s five monuments. However, a lot of changes have been made over the winter, and companies like Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, Decathlon CMA CGM and Visma-Lease a Bike have incredibly strong lineups.
Red Bull in particular will be hoping to find success after bringing in Olympic gold medalist Remco Evenepoel, while rising Spanish ace Juan Ayuso will be looking to impress after joining Lidl-Trek. Decathlon will also believe it has a star in the making: Olav Kooij aims to become the best sprinter in the world with the French team.
Despite many changes, Pogačar will remain the man to beat. The 27-year-old has plenty of goals for next season, including winning Paris-Roubaix for the first time and potentially taking a record fifth Tour de France victory.
